SUMMER 2024 CLASS AND CAMP DESCRIPTIONS
MUSICAL THEATRE KIDS CAMP
Singing, movement, and make-believe combined with fun theatre games will introduce your little Star to the fun of singing and musical theatre performance! Participants will learn and sing fun musical theatre songs in a lively, playful environment. This is a perfect intro to musical theatre performance without any “performance pressure”! Prepares children for participation in the Musical Theatre Performance Camp, if they so desire. Ages. 6-10. Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00 to 2:15 pm.
TEEN & YOUNG ADULT PERFORMANCE CLASS
Love to sing musical theatre? Like to get a song or two performance-ready? Would you like to dig a little deeper into a character? Weekly work will include effective warmups, getting to the core emotions of a musical theatre song, telling the character’s story, song stylization, how to convey your performance to the audience, playing to the back of the house, and more! At the end of the four-week class, singers will perform in a showcase. For this class, it is suggested that singers bring a song to class they already know and would like to work with in-depth. (We are happy to help you select a song to sing.) Singers will continue to rehearse their song on their own and bring it to class each week ready to perform. Ages 14 to Adult. Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS
One-on-one vocal instruction offered by for beginning and advanced singers by Ellen Wilson M.M., ENMU music faculty member. Repertoire includes classical, folk, musical theatre, and popular music styles. Lessons are individually tailored to the goals, talents, and abilities of the singer with warmups and repertoire selected to maximize vocal growth and meet any goals such as a solo for choir, a talent show performance, or a college audition.
